BACK TALK...

I went online and read the article about my folk art. You certainly outdid yourself.
(Sweet Baby Jane, by Deborah Burst, June 2009 issue) Heck, I want to buy one of my
paintings after reading that article! I have to say I cried because you hit me right on the spot. God bless.
~Hank, Maria & Christian
EDITORS NOTE: You can view Hank Holland’s work at www.babyjanestudios.com or on Ebay by Googling his name.

The Peach Festival is one of my favorites and when I saw those fun pictures on your cover, I smiled and picked up several copies for my friends. Hope I didn’t take too many.
~Millie G., Many

I can’t wait to go back to the Soul Food Festival in Lake Providence again this year. Thanks for reminding me of the dates. Louisiana is such an awesome place!
~Jenna T., Vicksburg, MS

I live on the water and always read Joe Joslin’s article first when I get a new issue of LRT. You can learn more from his articles than just about anywhere else.
~Pat W., via e-mail

The article by Lora Peppers (The Story of Richard Barrington: From Slavery to Freedom, June 2009) was so inspiring. I read it several times and made a copy to keep in my ‘to read again’ file. I even sent your website link to my family and friends in Ohio so they could
also read your great magazine.
~Jackie P., Monroe
